Workshop: Cultivating Mushrooms at Home

Charlie Aller of Mush Luv will share simple methods for cultivating oyster mushrooms at home. Participants will learn how to choose and prepare growing material, successfully plant mushroom spawn, and care for mushrooms to harvest. Every participant will make and take home an oyster grow kit for fresh mushroom harvests or planting into more material for future mushrooms!

Ultraviolet Flashlight Tour

$10 (adult) / $5 (youth) / FREE for QG members

At sundown, join Blue Ridge Mycological Society President Pat Mitchell on a night walk where you will learn about the UV spectrum and witness the forest glow in colors you didn’t know it could. We will find bugs, plants, fungi and maybe even animals that take on a completely new color when exposed to the UV flashlights. Free for QG members!
