Learn the ins-and-outs of incorporating mushroom growing into an outdoor space. I will demonstrate practical techniques for growing mushrooms in multiple outdoor environments using widely available methods, materials, and mushroom varieties. We will cover the basics of fungal biology and how it pertains to cultivation; 3 different outdoor growing methods; how to keep your mushrooms growing long-term; how to get the mushrooms to fruit; and when to harvest. We will end the day with a discussion of post-harvest handling, storage, and cooking techniques. You will take home a small mushroom log and fruiting bucket so you can continue learning and harvest your own mushrooms!
